BEST Awards 2017

 The 2017 BEST Awards were hosted earlier this month to recognise our customers, partners, communities, and teams for their extraordinary efforts in the past 12 months.
The BEST Awards took place in Lilianfels in the Blue Mountains, NSW, where all recipients and nominees were greeted by Marbi and Shenay of Waradah Dancers who delivered a Welcome to  Country and held a smoking ceremony before the day’s activities took place. All attendees were then shown around the area and visited iconic areas such as the Three Sisters in Katoomba.

The recipients of the awards were:

  • Customer of the Year – Arturo

Arturo came to Campbell Page after helping out at a BE Seen event in Frankston. Arturo struggled with his confidence due to his autism but was keen to get find the independence that is gained from finding a job. When the partnership with Tip Top Bakeries was launched, Arturo eagerly put his hand up to participate alongside 9 other candidates. He proved to everyone that he was committed to finding work and that he would be a great employee. After 3 rounds of informal recruitment, he progressed to a two week trial period and then secured his current role.  One month on and Tip Tip Bakeries are thrilled with Arturo.

  • Employer of the Year – Tip Top

Sally Close of Tip Top Bakery had a vision for their Pathways program and that was a genuine focus on employment fairness and equity for people living with a disability. Sally understands the value a person with a disability can add to a workplace and its culture, and sees the ability rather than the disability. On behalf of Tip Top Bakery, Sally has been an active partner with Campbell Page by supporting the Peninsula Careers Fair and meeting and interviewing our customers.

 Tip Top and Sally understand that by simply hiring a person with a disability would not be successful without the right support. That’s why Tip Top ensures that all Campbell Page customers have rigorous on the job support by well-matched Tip Top staff.
  • Partner of the Year – Skillset

Skillset has been the major partner to Campbell Page Green Army for three years, not only in delivering projects but also scoping quality projects that will achieve the most worthwhile environmental outcomes and quality participant training experiences.  Their expertise in the environmental sector has enabled the partnership to secure 172 projects overall, each with community partners that have led many graduates from the program into ongoing employment.   Without this specific environmental knowledge on hand, Campbell Page Green Army would not have been able to achieve such outstanding results for both participants and community partners.

  • Business of the Year – Community Development Programme (CDP)

Our Community Development Programme based on Palm Island took out the Business of the Year Award due to their dedication to making a difference in their community. the team on Palm Island were always going above and beyond to ensure that each participant of the activities run through the program felt their needs were being met and that they were supported. This could not happen without a very committed and driven team. 


  • Customer Promise Award – Kristine Layt
Our Customer Promise award celebrates our focus on our customers. Kristine has consistently gone above and beyond and is an inspiring leader for her team.
  • Manager of the Year – Jen Aspinall
Jen is the Senior Manager Finance and Facilities and is recognised for her strong and consistent leadership on the ground, motivating her team by the example she sets and always helping with any issues or concerns.  Jen works closely with all aspects of the business often going beyond what is expected to make sure the job is done right.
  • Customer Impact Award – Disability Employment Services Peninsula
This award, for providing real change in their communities, is presented to DES Peninsula for going above and beyond for the entirety of 2017. They have hosted a number of community events with the sole purpose of bringing together employers and job seekers in informal environments. Their work has built the confidence of our customers and relationships with employers and the community.
  • CEO’s Award – Rachael McConnell
Rachael is our Senior Manager in People and Culture.  She has worked for Campbell Page for 11 years now and has an unswerving commitment to our values.  She is never afraid to raise any concerns at the highest level and she will always tackle the most complex issues with fairness, objectivity and a clear focus on reaching the right solution.  Rachael’s approach and attention ensures that everyone, is treated fairly, equitably and with genuine care.
  • Ten Years of Service – Belinda Duxbury, Jacqui McDonald, Julie Ashcroft and Ben Bewick

Belinda, Jacqui, Julie and Ben have been with Campbell Page for 10 years, to celebrate the milestone in their careers and to recognise their contributions to our organisation in this time, they have been awarded the Ten Years of Service Award.


  • Support Person of the Year/Team of the Year Award – Lynette Cooper

This has been awarded to the Lynette Cooper, Finance Specialist based in Kiama Lynette is part of the finance team and she shares an office with jobactive services. Her door is always open and she works effectively with the jobactive team and often during peak times of activity she is on hand to help out – even if it is just to let a customer know that their wait won’t be long it ensures that the customer has a better experience.
