Motivated to Find Work Throughout Kidney DialysisPosted on January 16, 2018
Sarkes was always so motivated to work even though dialysis took up a lot of his time. He would work night shift as a truck driver and then go to dialysis throughout the day, sometimes getting his much needed sleep in between shifts during dialysis. – Nikita Zander, Campbell Page Employment Consultant
Sarkes was a Campbell Page customer who had already achieved the huge task of finding a job, and afterwards, he continued to receive guidance and support through our a Post-Placement Support (PPS) program, which helps customers already in jobs stay in their jobs.
During this time, Sarkes was working as a truck driver at night and going through kidney dialysis during the day, throughout all of this his motivation and determination to stay in work never wavered.
He was waiting for the kidney transplant during all this time. Nikita was his consultant and she was in almost daily contact with him – following up on his health progress, dialysis days and giving him encouragement and support. – Emine Jeffrey, Campbell Page Regional Service Manager
Coming up to six months since Sarkes had started his job, he got the call from the hospital and went for the kidney transplant.
He notified Nikita and a week after his surgery he came to the office to say hello and thank you for the support.
Sarkes came in and saw me after his transplant and I was able to support him through his recovery. We are all so proud of him – he is such an inspiration! – Nikita
During his recovery, Campbell Page assisted Sarkes by funding a gym membership which helped Sarkes to get back to full health.
Due to his great recovery, Sarkes has since returned to work and is enjoying the new found freedom of not having regular dialysis appointments.
Campbell Page has helped me in so many ways… From helping me write my resume to providing me with work clothes and boots to showing me jobs that suited me and my situation. Nikita, in particular, showed me nothing but kind-heartedness, understanding and support. – Sarkes
