Umit has struggled with his mental health for many years now. He believed that no one would hire him. Unemployed, bored and little bit lost, he came to Campbell Page Broadmeadows and found out he did have something to offer.

At the moment I am just so thrilled that I have a job. It’s a good feeling. It’s fantastic for me, getting up in the morning and wanting to get up and come to work. – Umit

Approximately 1 in 5 Australians have a disability. Of those Australians living with a disability, over 1 million, aged 15-65, are unemployed and an amazing untapped resource in Australia’s workforce. With the right support, people with a disability can make contributions to employers and their businesses.

Umit, and his employer Nurat, are just two examples of our Disability Employment Services benefiting the customer, the employer and the wider community, stated Ross McLatchie who is the DES National Program Manager at Campbell Page.

Audio described version of Umit’s story
