Campbell Page lead the way in industry star rating

Campbell Page have received the highest overall star rating for Disability Employment Service (DES) Disability Management Services (DMS), receiving an average of 4 stars which places the organisation ahead of the top 10 largest providers.

Performing above the overall industry standard, Campbell Page received a 5-star rating across 43% of their Employment Service Areas (ESA), according to the June 2015 quarter rating report issued by the Australian Government.

The rating report also confirmed that the Campbell Page Marrickville employment hub jumped from 4 to 5 stars in the last quarter, with the Watergardens Psychiatric Specialist employment hub also making the leap from 2 to 3 stars during the last performance period.

The results mean that Campbell Page have been able to maximise the number of participants who have successfully been placed in sustainable employment opportunities, which is how the star rating standard is measured.

Our specialist staff have been critical in receiving these outstanding results’, Sotir Kondov, the General Manager for Specialist Employment Services for the organisation confirms.

Mr Kondov goes on to state that ‘the Campbell Page frontline staff and management have had a direct impact on the lives we are empowering, our leadership style is to place the individual at the centre of our activities, taking into consideration each individuals unique situation and circumstances’.

He believes it is this unique focus, which enables Campbell Page to make a difference in the community, stating ‘our hands on approach has resulted in these exceptional results for the June quarter, and as a team we will keep on strengthening in excellence and enablement’.

Every participant who receives support through the Campbell Page DES DMS programs are provided with long term employment opportunities, empowering not only their own lives but having a positive impact on their support network of family and friends as well as the wider community.

Green Army skilling up young people in Killalea State Park

As one team of young people finishes, three more Green Army teams take up the challenge and continue with a range of activities to remove weeds, collect seeds, and propagate native plant species in Killalea State Park on the south coast of NSW near Shellharbour.

The Green Army teams, led by Campbell Page in partnership with Killalea State Park, are working in Killalea State Park Nursery, Minnamurra Spit, Killalea Lagoon and surrounding sites.

The team that has just finished their 26 week project built and fenced a walking track from the park entrance to the kiosk, installed fencing along the access road to Farm Beach carpark and also built a staircase at Farm Beach. Four team members have applied to continue on with the new Green Army teams.

The new teams will be removing woody weeds, Asparagus Fern and African Olive and will focus on bush regeneration and propagating the area with native and endangered plant species.

“We are delighted to be part of this great initiative which gives young people an opportunity to get hands-on, practical skills and experience while working on a really worthwhile project”, said Mr Dale Cleaver, Chief Executive Officer, Campbell Page Australia.

“These projects give young people new skills in environmental and conservation fields which stand them in good stead to move onto further training or employment,” he said.

The projects also have significant environmental benefits for the Killalea State Park.

“There are three endangered ecological communities these (new) teams will help restore and this will conserve many important native plant and animal species” said Amelia Westhoff, Natural Resource Manager and spokesperson for Killalea State Park.

The Green Army is a hands-on, practical environmental action programme that supports local environmental and heritage conservation projects across Australia. It is an Australian Government initiative for young Australians aged 17–24 years who are interested in protecting their local environment.
Campbell Page is one of five service providers delivering the Green Army programme for the Australian Government. Together with our partners Skillset and TAFE Western we will be running projects across New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory.
